COLLEGE BOUND Scholarship
The College Bound Scholarship (CBS) offers the promise of tuition and books to qualifying 7th and 8th graders in Washington.  The tuition is covered at public college rates but the scholarship can be used at two and four-year public and private colleges and universities.  The books stipend is up to $500 per year.  For the qualified student, this scholarship "kicks in" after other state financial aid has been allotted.

If your child plans to further schooling after high school and you're wondering how you're going to be able to pay for it, please consider applying for this scholarship before June 30, 2012.  The criteria for qualification include: Your student staying crime free, graduating from a Washington state high school with a 2.0 or higher, applying for admission into a Washington college, completing a financial aid application during high school, and lastly, meeting the family income requirements.

If you have questions, see Q&As at www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound, email collegebound@hecb.wa.gov, or phone 1.888.535.0747.

Your child may either apply online at www.hecb.wa.gov/collegebound or you may speak with your Morgan MS counselor to get a hard copy of the application.

Please don't let this amazing opportunity pass you by!
